It's not for nothing they say that women are from Venus. It is a paradox, but the owners of normal hair think about curling it, when girls with curls dream about smoothing. To the latter, the salon industry offers a variety of straightening services: keratin, chemical straightening, nanoplasty, and Botox. In this article, the experts of Brasil-Prof will give full information about nano-plastic hair and straightening. We'll tell the appealing aspects of the process and dig up the pitfalls with the pitfalls.

What is nanoplasty?

Nanoplastic is a professional product designed to perform a salon hair straightening procedure. It is an alternative to keratin. It is used by hairdressers, stylists, specialists and some masters at home. The main task of nanoplastic hair: to smooth out, make the strands smooth and shiny, remove frizz, get rid of tangles. According to the manufacturers' assurances, the effect lasts for 6 months, taking into account normal "operation". Regular washing of the head and use of a hair dryer is allowed.

The origin of nanocompounds

It is assumed that the homeland of nanoplastic is Brazil. The country is a progenitor of the sphere of keratins, appeared in 1991. There is no exact date of nanokeratin appearance in the open sources, it is known only that in 2011 nanoplasty has reached the markets of CIS, Russia and Ukraine.

Product and Service Safety

Today, nano plastics for hair is considered to be the safest and most effective technique among all those developed for keratinic care. Not without minuses, but about that later. Nano-compound is based on natural, active biological acids, allowing you to get the most even, shiny and well-groomed curls with a number of useful trace elements and vitamins. Manufacturers claim that the composition of the tool used has no components that can cause damage. Only useful organic substances: lactose, collagen, keratin and a number of amino acids, due to which the straightening effect is achieved.

Top 7 differences between nanoplastic and keratin

  1. Ingredient Composition. The main difference between nanoplastic and keratin is the ingredients in the composition, although these two products are aimed at achieving the same result. Keratin contains formaldehyde or its derivatives, and nanoplasty is a more natural remedy.
  2. Instructions for the procedure. An important feature is that keratin is done easier and faster. It is important to take into consideration for the frequenters of beauty salons, who are standing before the choice between the two services.
  3. Purpose. Nano-plasty has more straightening power and is designed to pull tight curls and afro curls. Also, keratin has more nourishing properties due to the oils, while nanoplastic, on the contrary, dries the hair.
  4. Comfort of use. Keratin in contrast to the nano has a pronounced fragrance, while the nano is almost not felt when working with it.
  5. Hypoallergenic properties of the product. Keratin in rare cases can cause individual intolerance due to the high concentration of oils. Nanoplastic is not capable of causing allergies. It is allowed to use for pregnant and lactating women.
  6. Cost. The price of this product is higher. Accordingly, the cost of services is at a higher level.
  7. No deep cleansing. It is possible to apply the product without professional SHGO shampoo on dry or wet hair, depending on the recommendations in the protocol. But this is more for "field" conditions. Usually the hair is prepared for the procedure.

What is needed for the procedure? What tools and accessories?

The list of accessories is the same as the keratin kit. You need to buy:

  • Nanoplastia for hair (compositions can be chosen in our store)
  • Latex or nitrile gloves
  • Mask (with nano-plastic this is not a must).
  • Professional flat iron with floating plates
  • Protective cap to prevent fluids from dripping on the client
  • Barber apron with pockets for clips
  • Clips for locking curls (also known as crocodiles)
  • Flat comb, made of carbon fiber with fine teeth
  • Accessory kit (brush, spatula, bowl)
  • Powerful hair dryer with hot and cold settings

Complete instructions for how to use it

It can take a very long time (up to 5 hours), especially if you have lush, thick, curly and long hair. It is carried out according to the following plan:

  1. Shake the bottle before use. Get rid of residue;
  2. It is allowed to do the hair nanoplasty procedure without washing your head, but for the best effect it is better to wash off any cosmetics. Even if you used a mask a few days ago, you need to remove all its residues. To do this, use a deep cleaning shampoo, which can open the scales, and not just wash away the grease, dirt and cosmetics. After that, the strands are dried, sometimes completely and with a low-temperature treatment. Washing and drying can take 10 to 30 minutes;
  3. The product (emulsion) is applied with a special short brush, without touching the roots (at least 1 cm to the roots of the hair). This may take 30 to 60 minutes. Do not be afraid to apply with a surplus, as nano-plastic absorbs well;
  4. The curls are combed so that the product is evenly distributed, and then you need to wait from 60 to 90 minutes, determining the exposure by the stiffness and density of the curl. Of course, the time is approximate, as each product has its own recommendations for exposure;
  5. The hair is rinsed under water without shampoo, the head is dried with a hair dryer at 100%, without the use of a towel. This usually takes 20 to 40 minutes;
  6. All curls are distributed into small strands (1 cm), each of which is heated with a special iron. Be sure to observe the temperature mode - from 200 to 230 degrees for stiff hair, and from 170 to 190 degrees for damaged or colored hair. Each strand requires several "ironing" passes, from 7 to 12, depending on the condition and strength of the hair. This takes, on average, one and a half to two hours;
  7. The head again is washed with sulfate-free shampoo, after which the hair is treated with balm. This can, however, be done at home, but before this stage you can not do any hairstyles - the hair must be loose.

This is a standard procedure. Of course, there are many preparations with different composition and technology of use, because of which the stages are corrected by an experienced master. They can change places or be complemented (let's say by the application of special oil).

Clear advantages of the method

Among the clear advantages of nanoplastics are the following:

✅ The highest safety for humans, compared to counterparts;

✅ No burning or unpleasant odor while heat treating the hair;

✅ Combined treatment and aesthetic effect;

✅ Slight risk of adverse reactions - allergies or dandruff - as the composition does not come into contact with the scalp;

✅ The possibility of obtaining long-lasting results - up to 6 months;

✅ Acceleration of hair growth, protection against adverse external influences, elimination of excessive greasiness;

✅ Easy styling and care in the future.

Obvious disadvantages of the method

Among the "disadvantages" that must necessarily be considered:

❌ A certain percentage of volume is lost - your hair stops frizzing, and that's fine. But not if you want a voluminous hairstyle;

❌ Hair color changes. Natural curls are only slightly lighter, but dyed hair can lose up to 2 tones. This problem can be partially solved with a color protector;

❌ Nanoplasty for hair requires twice as much time compared to the classic keratin straightening procedure because of the long exposure time;

❌ Requires a more experienced technician who can successfully handle this procedure.

FAQ. Popular Questions and Answers

Are there women for whom nanoplasty is not suitable?

This procedure is not recommended for blonde, bleached, damaged, brittle hair. Because they simply can't withstand the high temperatures and acids that will dry them out. And this is another unpleasant paradox - nanoplasty is designed to strengthen, but can be used with initially healthy curls.

Is nanoplasty different from keratin straightening, or are they different names for the same method? Isn't nanoplasty laminating or shining?

These are completely different methods and should be considered separately from each other:

With lamination, you get shiny hair using cosmetics that create a protective film around each hair.

During shining, the strands are impregnated with a cosmetic consisting of essential oils. It is already acting on the internal structure.

Keratin hair straightening is hair treatment with the means with keratin, followed by temperature influence. Some products have more formaldehyde, others have less.

Nanoplasty is a modified version of keratin straightening especially for stiff and frizzy strands with the predominance of natural components in the composition.

In any case, you get not only a beautiful effect of straight hair, but also treat your curls. Here it all depends on which method is more preferable to you and whether there are no contraindications.

If it is safe, why is the master working with rubber gloves?

Let's turn to chemistry and physiology. A lot of cosmetic straighteners do not have a pH of 1.5. Our epidermis has a pH of 7. All because the main active elements are amino acids, and this can seriously damage the hand skin if you work with such a product every day.

Are there no contraindications for nanoplasty for children or pregnant women?

Domestic representatives of cosmetic brands, as well as masters state that it is perfectly safe. If you are worried about this, it is better to consult with your doctor.

Had nanoplasty, is it possible to dye after the procedure?

Monochrome coloring can be done the next day, and lightening in 2, or better yet 3 months. Do a test on one strand beforehand. Do not forget that the dyes include amino acids that can "eat" the shade. By the way, if the product has only 3% brightener, then it is harmless, but if 9%, then most of the composition-straightener will be washed away. Dyeing before the procedure, however, is possible, but choose a tone or two darker than usual.

What is the effect of nano-plastic hair on henna?

Theoretically, you can dye henna even the day after the procedure. But experienced craftsmen recommend to wait up to two weeks.

Do I need a special care shampoo and balm to maintain the result?

Any quality version of your favorite brand. Nanoplasty is not as demanding of home care as keratin. After keratin, you need to use low-sulfate shampoos, while nanoplasty is devoid of this disadvantage.

How often can I get nanoplasty?

The nanoplasty procedure should not be done more than twice a year. Six months is the optimal period of action after application.

Why does nanoplasty for hair only last a month?

It depends not only on the product, but also, first of all, on yourself. Of course, it is important to choose a professional product and fully comply with all the technology of its application, but even after that there is the impact of the environment - temperature changes, rain, snow, strong wind. All this has a negative impact. Plus, the condition of your hair before the procedure is important - on healthy curls the effect lasts longer. But the most common reason for the premature termination of the effect, not following the technology of application.

What popular brands exist?

There is a huge variety of brands. You can choose any one you like based on reviews. At Brasil-Prof we have the following brands: Felps Professional, Ykas Cosmeticos, AgiMax by Soller Brasil, Richee. Each of them is tested and approved by us.

There is speculation that nanoplasty is used by Natalie Portman, the actress and film director, and Nicole Kidman:

Most likely, the gorgeous Sandra Bullock has repeatedly resorted to this technique.
